Binod Sharma has been working in scientific and socio-economic research. Recently, he carried out a project on behalf of NWCF in partnership with ICIMOD. This study focused on reviving dried up springs by enhancing groundwater recharge through traditional ponds as well as helping to build the capacity of local community to sustain such springs revival and protection working in Kavrepalanchok, a typical Hill district of Nepal. Mr. Sharma previously worked as an independent consultant for several national and international organizations including FAO, ADB, Helvetas, DFID, and others, in conducting various research studies and development work related to crop water requirements, agroecological zoning, land use planning, sustainable soil and water management, and revival of springs.
